Leaving NYC for the Open Road: Chad and Paul's Vanlife Journey

What’s in Today’s Episode:

Ally sits down with Chad and Paul to discuss life on the road. They tell her what it was like leaving their 9-5 jobs and their community in Brooklyn and share tips on how they keep their relationship healthy while living in such a small space. Paul also gives us a primer on eBay dropshipping and they talk about how they have found community on the road.

“It’s a big change because when you have a 9-5 job, you’re apart for most of the day. So when you come back its all sunshine and daffodils, you have dinner, you catch up, you have romantic time, and here we are literally within 10 feet of each other all day…every single minute of every single day so you really have to come to terms with the fact that everyone needs personal space.”

What Ally and Chad and Paul chat about:

  • Why they decided to leave their corporate jobs in NYC to get on the road

  • Finding community on the road

  • How they make money while they travel, eBay dropshipping

  • Why they switched from a Winnebago Travato to a Sprinter

  • How they met, how they maintain a healthy relationship in the van

  • Safety and acceptance while traveling for LGBTQI persons

“We worked really hard to build some remote business so we could support ourselves and travel around…”
